Each region really has it’s own local delicacies, but in general meat and potatoes is pretty standard. The coasts have good seafood, the South has Cajun/Creole. Farm-to-table is a big trend.

Best drink? Local drink to try?
Kentucky bourbon

How is breakfast served in your country?
A standard American breakfast typically includes eggs, potatoes, and bacon (duh). Brunch is also serious business.

The best festival to attend?
Coachella, Burning Man or Mardi Gras

Which sport are you guys crazy about?
American football

What excursions and/or activities do you extremely suggest that visitors MUST do?
Visit as many of the national parks as possible

Sooo many! The Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire, Yellowstone, Statue of Liberty

Oh gosh, depends how many states you want to hit. Each city is worthy of at least 3-4 days.

When is the best time to visit?
Summer

Can you give an interesting trivia about your country? 
There’s a rumor that the founding fathers originally wanted the mascot to be a rattlesnake or a turkey, not a bald eagle because their chirp isn’t exactly intimidating.

What is your country’s most popular stereotype/cliché?
Red solo cups at parties

TRAVEL

Are you a traveler? Which place is your favorite so far?
Absolutely – Thailand, Patagonia, Turkey…the list goes on and on.

What’s your best travel story?
I became a certified Viking in Iceland – it’s basically the best resume builder ever.

Why do you love traveling? 
Life is short and the world is wide. There’s just so much to learn and explore and the more you travel, the more you see that at the end of the day, we’re really not that different.

Busy

“Chill out!” It doesn’t mean to lower your body temperature but to calm down or relax.

How do I say “hello/thank you/please/sorry” in your language?
“Hello/hi/hey/yo”
“Thank you/thanks”
“Please/puh-LEEZ”
“Sorry/oops/my bad”

Are you more like laid back or party people?
Tourists perceive us as laid back and party people but we are pretty busy people. We get a little more laid back once summer hits 🙂

FOOD​

Best food? Weirdest food? Local food to try?
Honestly? Anything goes here! Best food is always a cute little hole in the wall type joint. Many people will tell you that you can’t leave without getting some In-N-Out and I can say from personal experience that it IS better from California than any other place you might find one!

Best drink? Local drink to try?
Milk 🙂 Happy cows come from California

How is breakfast served in your country?
All Day 😉 breakfast is almost a religion! It is all about eggs and bacon and breakfast tacos and sausage and pancakes and waffles and orange juice! Not all at once of course!

Orange Blossom Festival

Which sport are you guys crazy about?
Baseball and football are pretty big here

What is the craziest thing to do in your country?
Go skydiving or swimming with sharks

What excursions and/or activities do you extremely suggest that visitors MUST do?
Go to an All-you-can-eat buffet. You aren’t in the USA unless you stuff yourself full of food until it’s almost hard to breath!

Are there any local customs a visitor should be sensitive to?
If someone avoids your gaze, they don’t want to talk

What is/are the most surreal places/landmarks to visit?
Yosemite National park is beautiful

Where can visitors find the best beach?
It depends on what your looking for. Santa Cruz boardwalk is great if you are looking for entertainment and people. Pebble beach is great for gentle waves (great for small kids). Agate beach is small and secluded.

If I’m staying for less than a week, which city should I choose?
Also depends on what your looking for. People and entertainment I would recommend Southern California, LA area. Central California, Sacramento area also has entertainment but less people and more options if you want to experience beaches, snow, forest, and desert; all within 2 hours. Northern California, Eureka area, is super calm and beautiful if you are looking for a relaxing place to stay.

7-10 days

Spring/summer. The most events are available during these times.

Anytime. Just choose an area experiencing the type of climate you enjoy, whether warm and humid or cold and dry or somewhere in between.

James Meredith was the first black man to attend a white institution of higher learning in the state of Mississippi when he arrived to class at Ole Miss (The University of Mississippi) with federal agent escorts.

What is your country’s most popular stereotype/cliché?
Lack of intelligence.

Humacao, Puerto Rico.

It’s all about good food, massages, and beaches for me.

Best food has to be soul food (fried chicken, collard greens etc).. Weirdest foods some people think are fried frog legs..

We have a LOT of local craft beer and ciders which are great

Country style… eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy

We have a lot of local fairs which are so much fun

In my town we are the home to President James Madison, so that is the must see place.

Ellwood Manor– The home of the burial site of Stonewall Jackson’s arm.

An unlimited amount of time could be spent here. All 50 states offer something intriging

Depending on what type of weather you like. Many places boast skiing, others are great for fresh fruits and vegetables when in season.

Can you give an interesting trivia about your country?
we sell enough pizza every day to cover 100 acres.

What is your country’s most popular stereotype/cliché?
I believe a lot of other countries believe that American’s are not educated which is simply untrue.
